Robert Boyd (Chair)

Robert Boyd is a Trustee of the IEA and Board Member of Atlas Network. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia having worked in London, Asia and The United States. His professional focus has been on strategic corporate growth and management, and he has been a board member of public and private corporations, not-for-profit organisations and a community association.

A close confidante of Linda Whetstone and a long-serving trustee of NFS, as chairman of the WFF advisory board Robert brings a wealth of experience and connections from across the globe to help guide the WFF grant committee.


Michael Fisher

Michael Fisher is brother of Linda Whetstone and son of Sir Antony Fisher, the founder of the IEA, Atlas Network and Network for a Free Society in its original form. Michael was a Trustee of Network for a Free Society and its predecessor and for many years a Managing Trustee of the IEA. He thus brings a wealth of board level experience of institute oversight to the WFF’s strategic direction as an advisory board member.

Michael was a co-founder, Managing Director and Chairman of Whale Tankers and previously with Land Rover.


Rainer Heufers

As the Founder and President, Rainer Heufers guides the institutional development and supervises the operational management of the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS). He has spent more than three decades on public policy research and project management concerning the economic transition of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Indonesia.

He is also the Founder and Managing Director of a Singapore-based training and consulting firm that provides leadership training to civil society organisations across the world. Rainer brings a wealth of experience from the think tank scene in the developing world and will be advising the WFF programmes on grant-making with a focus on Southeast Asia and Africa.


Alexander Hammond

Alexander is Program Manager in Freedom in Practice at the Rising Tide Foundation, a Free Trade Fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs, and serves as an advisor to the Whetstone Freedom Fund. He is the founder and former director of the Initiative for African Trade and Prosperity. He is also the author of Heroes of Progress: 65 People Who Changed the World.
